DIY Project: Baby and Toddler Swing July 25 2014, 0 Comments

For most adults, swings seem to bring back memories of carefree childhoods, hours spent at playgrounds and the closest you've ever felt to the freedom of flying.  Most kids seem to love the sensation too and when we found this DIY project, we knew that there would be a few of you who would be clever enough to take it up.  We found this beautiful (and very easy-to-follow) DIY indoor swing for kids over on one of our favourite blogs, A Beautiful Mess.  The swing was created by the very talented Rachel from Smile & Wave.  Click here for the more photos and for the instructions.  We'd love to see your efforts if you give this one a go this weekend!  xx

DIY Project: Free printable Superhero cuffs July 18 2014, 0 Comments

Personally, as a parent, one of the most stressful notes that comes home from daycare and school is 'Don't forget that it's dress up day on Friday'!  As a working Mum, a mad panic generally sets in as I realise that I'm not going to get anywhere near a toy store before the weekend.  So when a fellow working Mum sent me the link to these free downloadable Superhero cuffs, I immediately book marked them, knowing that in the future I'll be able to print them out and turn a standard cape and tights into a Superhero outift in no time.  Thanks so much Kate over at Kate's Creative Space - you've saved this working Mum from some panic in the future!  Click here for more info and for the downloadable pdfs xx

One of the little girl's in our feather the nest family is obsessed with rings at the moment.  She points them out on any finger that she sees and makes several versions out of straws and playdough for her own little hands.  When we were sent the link to these free printable animal rings, we knew that she'd love them and printed them out straight away.  Thanks so much to the very clever Michelle over at So Here's My Life - we think that these rings are the best!  See here for the instructions and downloadable pdf... xx

This is a relatively easy DIY project this week.  The clever Jenny from Hello Bee posted this project a while ago, but crowns are never out of fashion and these gorgeous little numbers would make a great addition to any dress up box.  Or you could make several of them and hand them out as favours at your next child's birthday party.  For instructions and more info visit www.hellobee.com/2012/05/30/diy-felt-crown/ x
