Inspiration: A beautiful nursery for a new arrival... February 13 2014, 0 Comments

One of the best things about social media is it's ability to introduce you to new products, people and blogs.  We came across this gorgeous nursery this morning and thought that you'd all agree that it was one of the most beautiful spaces we've seen in a long time.  Emma, at Beau Monde Mama, is based in New Zealand and has kindly provided notes on where she sourced all of the items she's used.  We love the peachy tones and we're pretty impressed with the news that Emma created the feature wall in this room herself!

See Emma's blog for more photos and more lifestyle, fashion and beauty, DIY and baby inspiration!
Thanks for sharing your little girl's new room Emma - we think you've done an incredible job.

News: Why organic cotton? February 08 2014, 0 Comments

We often get asked why we prefer to stock products that are made from 100% certified organic cotton and the answer is easy. Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides, insecticides and synthetic fertilizers and we feel that this means that it's the best type of cotton for babies and children's bedding, sheets and blankets.

Growing children spend so much time in their beds that we believe that it's important for their linen is as free from nasty chemicals as possible. Organic cotton is also generally softer and more gentle on skin.

Being free from nasty chemicals means that organic cotton is also better for the farmer, the environment and for the people who work with it during the manufacturing process.

Just our opinion, but several of you have asked, so we thought that we'd include it here.

Inspiration board: White and grey kids rooms November 30 2013, 0 Comments

There's something calming about the combination of white and grey, especially in kids rooms.  We're about to start renovation number 2, so I'm looking for ideas for our little one's new room and found loads of inspiration on Pinterest.  Interestingly enough quite a few of them also contain animals!

Check out our Pinterest board for these images and their sources - pinterest.com/feathernestnz

Are you a fan of the white and grey combination too?  Or do you prefer to push the boundaries with colour in kids rooms?
